Biography

Geary, David

David C. Geary, Curators’ professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences in the University of Missouri College of Arts and Science, is a cognitive developmental psychologist with interests in mathematical learning and in evolution. After receiving his doctorate from the University of California, Riverside, he held faculty positions at the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Missouri, first at the Rolla campus and then in Columbia. Geary is currently a Curators’ professor and a Thomas Jefferson Fellow in the Department of Psychological Sciences. He has previously served as the department chair and the University of Missouri Middlebush Professor of Psychological Sciences. He has published approximately 250 articles and chapters across a wide range of topics, including cognitive, developmental, and evolutionary psychology, education and medicine, including four books. He has given addresses in a variety of departments and universities throughout the United States, as well as Austria, Belgium, Canada, England, Germany, Italy and Portugal.
