Heppner, Puncky

Heppner focuses his research on people coping with stressful life problems, including health problems such as breast cancer, and how these people are influenced by their evaluation of themselves to cope effectively, their coping styles and coping resources. He has had three Fulbrights, several international invited professorships, and much of his current writing focuses on crossing cross-national cultural boundaries.  He serves as a reviewer and editor of several psychology and education publications. He received a Kemper Award at MU for teaching, as well as numerous other international, national and community awards for his research, work with American multicultural and cross-cultural topics, and community service.
