Rikoon, Sandy1

Sandy Rikoon is a professor of rural sociology in the College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources and director of the Community Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture Program and the Interdisciplinary Center for Food Security.

Rikoon received his doctorate from Indiana University. He works to bring awareness of hunger in the U.S. and to effectively communicate the complexity of hunger along with its causes and consequences. He is a co-author of the Missouri Hunger Atlas, which documents food security in each  Missouri county and measures how well public programs are doing in meeting the needs of citizens who have difficulty acquiring sufficient amounts of food.
